Luxurious Living: Weatherford College Unveils New Vickie and Jerry Durant Hall

The new Vickie and Jerry Durant Hall at Weatherford College is not your average college dorm. With spacious rooms, special amenities, and a grand lobby that will leave you in awe, students lucky enough to live in this new facility will surely feel like they are living in luxury.

Owned by Jerry and Vickie Durant, who have a history of giving back to the community, this dorm is a testament to their generosity and commitment to education. The building was paid for with a donation from the Durant family and college funds, with not a single tax dollar being used in the construction.

As visitors enter the grand lobby with lounge seating, a massive fireplace, and antler chandeliers, they are immediately struck by the attention to detail and comfort that went into the design of this dorm. The first floor features a kitchenette, full weight room, and four-room suites with two full baths, a common study lounge, kitchenette, and private bedrooms.

The other floors offer more dorm rooms and a large cardio workout room with a view of East Park Avenue. The building was designed with input from the building committee and college board of trustees, with a focus on creating a comfortable and convenient living space where students can study and develop.

Dr. Tod Farmer, the college president, emphasized that this building will be full to capacity on the day it opens, showcasing the high demand for quality student housing. Huckabee Architects, tasked with the design, ensured that comfort and convenience were top priorities, making this dorm a truly unique and exceptional living space.
