Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Son Drake Adds His Own Touch to Mom’s Dorm Room Design

In a recent interview, Joanna and Chip shared the details of Drake’s move-in process at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Joanna explained that she usually goes the day before moving in to get an idea of the space and develop her plan. However, soon after leaving Drake at school, she found out he had made some changes to her design. Drake added mood lighting throughout his space by buying lights on Amazon and stringing them throughout his whole apartment. Now, it looks like a club!

Despite the changes Drake made to her design, Joanna was in good spirits about it. She understands the importance of making a space your own, even if your mom is a world-famous designer. Joanna also shared her feelings about her oldest child leaving home, expressing gratitude and excitement for his new chapter while acknowledging the emotional challenges of the transition.

The Gaines family is handling this change with grace, and they are grateful that Drake is still close by in Waco.
