Ohio State University Welcomes One of the Largest Freshman Classes Ever
Are you ready for the start of a new school year at Ohio State University? Move-in day at Smith-Steeb Hall was bustling with families and volunteers helping students settle into their new dorm rooms. With the anticipation of one of the largest freshman classes ever at the university, there was a sense of excitement in the air.
Parent Gina Khalil from Akron was back for round two, helping her daughter Anna move into Smith-Steeb. Despite hearing about the large incoming class, Gina was confident that it wouldn’t affect Anna’s dorm experience. With just one roommate, they were able to navigate the move-in process smoothly.
Meanwhile, over at Lincoln Tower, incoming freshman Farah Leblanc was preparing to live with 15 other girls. With a lot of stuff to fit into her new space, Farah was optimistic about making it work. The university received a staggering 80,000 applications for the school year, indicating a significant increase in enrollment.
Spokesman David Isaacs reassured that the university was prepared to accommodate the influx of students. With around 40 residence halls on the main campus, there was plenty of room for everyone. Matt Brown, helping his daughter Brooke move into Lincoln Tower, noted the unique setup of the suites with multiple roommates sharing common spaces.
Despite the potential for tight quarters, both students and parents remained positive about the upcoming year. Farah acknowledged that no college dorm is perfect, but it’s all about making the best of the situation and staying optimistic. With a supportive community and exciting opportunities ahead, the start of the 2024-2025 school year at Ohio State University was off to a promising beginning.
As students settled into their new homes, the energy on campus was palpable.
